I realized that I hadn't posted anything about the recent goings on in the world, and because I have been shocked and extremely angry about the acts of violence that have occurred in the last week alone, I felt that it was 125% necessary to at least acknowledge these horrors. In the last week, two men were unnecessarily murdered by policemen because (let's face it) of the color of their skin on two consecutive days. Mere days after those shocking incidents, five policemen in Dallas were shot by a sniper who said he wanted to "kill white cops" (and, maybe, who can blame him at that point?). He was blown up with a robot after he refused to comply with orders from the police.

Just when I thought that the pages of the news couldn't be splattered with any more blood, when I thought that surely, the world could not be shaken by more grief, it was. In the midst of Bastille Day celebrations in Nice, France, a truck armed with explosives drove into the crowd and killed at least 80 people.

I had to say something. I had to post SOMETHING that could, at the very least, ACKNOWLEDGE what has happened. I never post political or news related things on here, but this felt important. This felt necessary. I don't have any social media, and this is the only outlet I have where I can post things to the Internet for other people to see. We have to talk about this kind of thing. We simply cannot allow it to slip past unnoticed and unsolved. We need to serve justice to the killers of Alton Sterling and Philando Castile.

I am experiencing a wide array of emotions right now, and in fact, I'm not really sure what to feel or think. All I want is for the violence to end. That is all I ask.

I do not think that this "word art" if you will does it justice, but again, I just wanted to acknowledge it. I included Orlando and Paris on here because that too felt important, and I felt the need to honor it because I haven't before. I probably also should have included the countless names of those shot or assaulted by police, but it wouldn't fit. Also I realize that my inclusion of #lovewins and #blacklivesmatter may be misleading- I am NOT in ANY way against either of those movements. I support them both COMPLETELY. I just wanted to include them because... well, just because.

I don't know what else to say except to urge you to spread the word about these events. I'm sorry this got long. Congrats if you got this far, I guess.
