Description
I was hit by a series of shock today. Don't know why, but I suddenly remembered about this screenshot I have a long time ago, so I decided to give it a go.I wonder... if master Splinter or Raphael were to be in my case, what choice would they make?
Anyway, just messing around with color, layers, lines and textures...

That episode paid homage to the movie, thatβs why itβs so touching...

It shows Master Splinter's love for all of them, even his most hot tempered son. I loved that moment in the movie.
They have yet to equal that emotion in any TMNT movie since.

Really, really nice drawing! Having an artistic outlet can be very helpful when you're feeling down; it helps you focus and think more clearly. It's also a great way to relieve stress. Don't forget we're here for you too, if you feel the need to vent.

If you don't mind me asking, did you trace or eye-ball it? (not asking cause I'm gonna point and go "Thy shall not trace!") I always highly recommend trying to eye-ball stuff, but for a beginner a little tracing can help you "get the feel" for the media. Tho in the long run, practicing construction is far more educational and rewarding.

I traced it, even though I do fear that my skill won't improve that way. I can visualize the image vividly in my head, let alone a screenshot, but when I sketch it out, it's always a mess TT_TT

Even tho I'm sure it sounds really boring... I'll recommend a book called "Drawing on the right side of the brain" by Betty Edwards (I'm sure there's some downloadable pdf's around...) It's a great book for beginners who are having difficulty drawing what they are seeing. We develop something called symbol-drawing at an early age, where we're not drawing things the way we see them, but how we THINK we are seeing them. It sounds silly, but it's very true. I'll highly recommend giving the exercises in that book a shot if you wanna try to break out of the habit

Please feel free to ask for advice if there's anything I perhaps can help you with!
