Thank you, Rose! The shape is similar to some of your fractals, isn't it? I had to work hard to get Fractal Explorer to give me sparkles!

If you could make the full size bigger like 1300x1100 or so it would help to see the details.

That's true, isn't it? I usually make my fractals no bigger than my computer screen. I know that many people have smaller screens than I do, and they may not even be able to see the whole fractal when it's about 850 pixels high. If I were to upload a bigger version and display a smaller version (making the large one available for download), the displayed version would look quite blurry due to the compression. I'm not sure what to do. Do you have any ideas?
Do you use Internet Explorer, Rose? In the bottom right hand corner, the IE browser has a button that lets you magnify the "window" you're looking at. I just tried looking at this fractal at 150% and 200% size, and it doesn't look bad! It doesn't become blurry-looking, as you might think it would. It's great that you care about the details, Rose. You are an artist!

Creating them in that size to begin with will not create blur, just a larger more detailed view. The magnification is in the tools on the internet. This will not help you.

It's reducing the size that creates the blur, Rose. If you can imagine it, when you reduce a fractal in size, the pixels that are separate in the full-size version get jammed together so that there are two or three in the space that used to be occupied by one. They get all mashed together. I also need to be able to see the whole fractal at the same time, without scrolling, when I'm working on it. So the size limit for me is going to have to be about 850 pixels high. Some programs don't have this size setting, or sometimes a fractal needs a size reduction for other reasons. That is why some of my fractals are smaller than this.
I don't notice any bothersome blur on your MBF fractals, by the way. It's probably because they start out so very sharp that a bit of blur actually helps them in appearance.
Regarding the browser magnification tool, I was just thinking that it might be a good and easy way for you to see the details of fractals. It works for me!

No problem! I was thinking that my explanation may not be technically 100% correct. It's how I think of it, though. One day, I'll read a bit more and figure out exactly how it all works.

I usually work with the screen in small enough so I can see it all, but when I'm done I save it to the size I want the full size Blow up to be. That way you can have your cake and eat it too. Then I upload it.

Of course this particular fractal wasn't made in Apophysis. I did change the colour balance, though. At first, the whole fractal was reddish. It lacked the nice effect by which the purple can be seen through the sheer red top layer.

I don't worry with it until I'm completely ready for my final render. Same thing with MBF.

That will work fine, Rose, if you don't do a lot of work on the fractal after it comes out of the fractal-generating program. Your MBF fractals probably look great already when the program has made them! Apophysis is a different matter, at least the way I make my Apo fractals. I make at least 5 adjustments, often 20 or more, to each fractal in a photo editor after using Apophysis. They aren't big changes - just cosmetic ones - but they take a lot of time and require that I see the whole fractal. I change things like colour hue and contrast and I remove a few blotches from the background. Well, there's more, but you get the idea. I find that this is the biggest difference between Apophysis and the other fractal programs I've tried. Apophysis doesn't give me quite as finished a product. The extra effort is worth it, though.
