It's a very loose spoiler. If I remember correctly, Sonic pantomimes a bullfighter at one point and that's about it. The similarity between that and this drawing is almost non-existent.

Really, it's not the most amazing thing in the world like so many people are making it out to be. It was a fun experience to share with my kids and I'll definitely buy the DVD so we can watch it again later, but you didn't miss anything huge.
Now, if they'd made an attempt to make Dr. Robotnik actually look or act like Dr. Robotnik, then I'd say you had missed out.
