Ha ha Barb, I still live in Canada... I'm only 8 hours away. Fall is my favorite season , the leaves still haven't finished changing down up here.

Dammit. Why can't Florida have scenery like that.

I visited Florida for the first time this year, and I thought that it was beautiful. I mean, there were PALM trees! I have to say, however, that I prefer Canada's natural lakes and rivers to the man-made ones that seemed to be everywhere in Orlando.

I live about a half hour from Orlando and I can tell you that most of those palm trees were planted. Did you get to visit any of the less tourist infested areas?

Unfortunately, no. There just wasn't enough time. Someday, I might go back... I went in January, and it was INSANE that there was no snow! It looked rediculous to see Christmas decorations mingling with exotic flowers... I was entertained.

I have seen snow one time in Florida, but the stuff was so thin that you needed an acre of it to make a snowball. I'm a native Floridian and every year I hear about "snow flurries on the Cape", but I don't believe it. Next time you make it down, find your way to an airboat tour. You'll see what's left of the real Florida before the retirement communities swallow the state.

Thanks for the tip, I'll try to do that someday.
