You contradict each promise,
And leave me to decay.

You hug me when I’m crying.
You leave me as I speak.
You call yourself a hero,
When it is loss you seek.

You love me when I’m happy.
You hate me when I’m true.
You’ll be my friend tomorrow.
Today, there’s more to do.

I cling to reminiscence.
I try to recreate.
When will you be the one I need?
Why do I have to wait?

I cherish you so dearly.
I think you care, inside?
I try to prove you worthy,
But in the end, I lied.
