Well, these notes were a bit pointless for me because they were for a business class, and my major was most definitely not business

fair enough. at least you know things that don't concern your major; maybe on the short term of your studies and major they are pointless and don't bring anything to you, but in the long term and generally, it could come in handy, good or even practical to know.
but it boils down to the way you want to use your knowledge so there's not much i can do about that
