I really like this! The lighting and shading especially, it's like a more sophisticated oldschool SEGA game almost haha.

I just downloaded photoshop cs2...
for free ... shhhhhh
The reason I use CS2 as opposed to the newest Photoshop (that is just collecting dust on my computer) is because the newest one for me at least seems to fight against working as tiny as I like to work with pixels.
But yeah. It's pretty simple if you work at 72 dpi with the pencil tool (no anti-aliasing). Makes it easier to blow it up afterwards. I haven't really used anything else other than what I taught myself a long time ago when I used to try to make action sprites with Microsoft Paint for my own games. I would study other sprites to see how they softened certain edges and stuff and just retained some of the information. I used Paints A LOT back in the day. hahaha

Thanks, but don't be so hard on yourself. If I compared myself to all the other amazing pixel art (and art in general) on this site I'd say the same thing about my stuff, but it's much more satisfying to go at your own pace and have fun with it. Keep experimenting and you'll only get better.
