Sometimes I bet Maxie wonders why he bothers :T
Though I'm sure every Pokemon villain wonders. After all they're just going to get curb stomped by children. Teenagers if they're lucky.

You kinda have to feel bad for some villains ... They have to lose respect from their crew/other villains when they lose to children that just became a trainer.

FrightFox In reply to FreedomFighter34 [2014-12-21 09:34:30 +0000 UTC]
Very much so. I wouldn't mind having a Pokemon game that expands over several years to be honest. As a side note I really enjoyed Colosseum for having a trainer that was older than normal and already had two Pokemon. Β

FreedomFighter34 In reply to FrightFox [2014-12-21 09:40:37 +0000 UTC]
You never know, they might try it. I usually try to imagine that they trainer is older. (Why else would a parent let their child leave home to wonder around the world fighting villains without so much as giving them a phone call?) And Colosseum?

FrightFox In reply to FreedomFighter34 [2014-12-21 09:51:47 +0000 UTC]
Yeah, maybe some day. Though I think the last couple of generations have slowly been making the trainer older. At least it felt that way in B/W,B2/W2, and X/Y. They felt more like teenagers than children at the very least. Pokemon Colosseum for the GameCube had you taking the role of a teen/young adult who had Umbreon and Espeon as their starters.Β

FreedomFighter34 In reply to FrightFox [2014-12-21 09:56:59 +0000 UTC]
I think it felt that way mostly in Black and White, possibly because Bianca and Cheren kept talking about what they wanted to do with their lives and their careers. In X and Y I felt older simply because my character was taller than Trevor. But, in Alpha and Omega, you go right because to felling like a kid again because the villains refer to you as child, kiddo, scamp, and little. I never really got to play many game cube games that weren't Mario.

True, true.Β
I loved it for the simple fact your trainer busts into Team Snag-Em's base and stole their "snag-machine" which allowed them to steal Pokemon from trainers. Presumably for his own benefit, only to run into a girl with a strange power and get thrust into trying to stop the organization known as Cipher.Β

Their Snag-Machine? Sounds like something Team Rocket would create. XD

FrightFox In reply to FreedomFighter34 [2014-12-21 10:19:30 +0000 UTC]
Hehe, yeah, I'm surprised it was the first organization to do such a thing. Of course, they're also the first to seal away Pokemon's hearts by turning them into Shadow Pokemon, in effort make them super strong and vicious. They had a nasty habit of attacking you when you used them at times. Β I was assaulted many a time by my own Pokemon during that game. :TΒ
I be like, "Okay! We have to catch that Suicune. Now just knock it's health down a little and-*Your Pokemon is reaching a fever pitch*wait, what are you doing-*Your Pokemon attacked you instead!*-stahp!"

I heard about Shadow Pokemon, but I thought they was a fan-made thing. 0_0 Having your own Pokemon attack you ... That sounds horrifying!
π: 0 β©: 1
FrightFox In reply to FreedomFighter34 [2014-12-21 10:28:37 +0000 UTC]
Nope, not fan made at all actually. They appear in both Pokemon Colosseum and Pokemon: Gale of Darkness. You snag Shadow Pokemon and work to re-open their hearts.Β
It's not fun and can make a tedious battle even more tedious. I always kept my Umbreon and Espeon in my party because those two weren't Shadow Pokemon so they wouldn't attack you. I always liked how your partner (the girl you save from getting kidnapped) can see Shadow Pokemon and alert you to their presence. It's like, I'm glad I ran into you because otherwise this would be an extremely tedious guessing game.

At least you had some help throughout the game, but Shadow Pokemon sounds horrifying. Kinda sounds like a horror game almost.

Indeed! It had some pretty interesting characters in it. Including Mirror B. Though I like him better in Gale of Darkness.Β
Yeah, but you can call their name and bring them back to their senses, so at least there's that.Β

After shiny hunting in X and Y, I have quite a few shinies to trade over. I've wonder traded a few off, I think I made a few people happy with that. But, the one I'm most excited about trading over is my shiny male kirlia. Partly for the shiny mega, the other part is for the fact it's my one and only hatched shiny.

FrightFox In reply to FreedomFighter34 [2014-12-25 05:15:12 +0000 UTC]
I am way too impatient to shiny hunt. Yes! Mega Gallade is awesome and Mega Shiny Gallade is awesome too :3

FreedomFighter34 In reply to FrightFox [2014-12-25 07:34:10 +0000 UTC]
The only way I can shiny hunt if if I'm doing something else and I'm just doing it absentmindedly. Such as watching a movie, I only look to check the Pokemon, to press run, or when I heard the sparkles. I really want to try to hatch another shiny ralts to get a female, but egg hatching can get boring fast and requires more concentration than just running through the tall grass.

FrightFox In reply to FreedomFighter34 [2014-12-25 20:00:04 +0000 UTC]
Yeah, just random encounters is what I try for. I try also doing horde encounters to up my chance, but I haven't done it that much on the remakes. Yeah, I bet it does. I tried hatching a shiny Pichu, but after almost one box I was burnt out.Β
I wish you the best of luck on getting a shiny female Ralts. ^^

FreedomFighter34 In reply to FrightFox [2014-12-25 23:48:10 +0000 UTC]
I've caught a shiny foongus and psyduck in hordes. I haven't caught a shiny in Pokemon Alpha, but, to my surprise, someone did send me one over wonder trade. I heard that the new way to chain hunt Pokemon is to find the Pokemon in the tall grass that poke out. You don't have to get the same one every time, you just have to watch one until your encounter rate goes up enough then you stop or it'll restart. Then you just keep searching for it until you get the shiny you're looking for.Β
I was trying for a shiny buneary. Over five boxes and nothing. I got sick of looking at bunearys and tried for ralts, not believing I'd get one. After just a few eggs, one leaped out at me.

FrightFox In reply to FreedomFighter34 [2014-12-25 23:56:14 +0000 UTC]
Yeah, I've attempted that, and I've seen people encounter shinies ranging from their 70th to 90th try. One guy even got two in one day and kept going. I haven't gotten the chain that high, but I'm going to start encountering hordes to better my chances.Β
Aw, shiny buneary is awesome! I really want a female one, but I at the very least finally found one in OR. Though it was male and not shiny I was just so glad to have finally found one. I wanted a Mega Lopunny so bad.Β

I remember when I got four in one day. I was so shocked and surprised! But, also very angry because I had been hunting for a espurr in a Friend Safari and kept getting Munna and Xatu. I wouldn't have minded the Munnas ... If I had a way to evolve them.
I finally got one though trading, and I felt the same way trying to find Buneary in AS. It was a male, but I didn't care. Just in case I couldn't fine another I chucked a Pokeball at it.

FrightFox In reply to FreedomFighter34 [2014-12-26 00:09:03 +0000 UTC]
I forgot how Munna evolves, is it with a Moon Stone?Β
Oh neat! Yeah, the first one I found I knocked out and them I spent another ten minutes trying to find another one ;.;
π: 0 β©: 1
FreedomFighter34 In reply to FrightFox [2014-12-26 00:17:13 +0000 UTC]
Yeah, with a moon stone. But, there was only one or two moon stones in the game. I know I used one on Jigglepuff, the other I think was on a Skitty.
I spent a while trying to find a female one. It commonly popped out of the grass exposing its ears so I used up at least ten repels trying to get it to show itself. But that evil Xatu kept coming up.

FrightFox In reply to FreedomFighter34 [2014-12-26 00:19:14 +0000 UTC]
I wish they had more stones, but I think I used the dream radar to collect a few if I remember correctly. At least a fire stone maybe a moon stone.Β
Yeah...those things kind of freak me out. I think it's their model in this game ^-^;

FreedomFighter34 In reply to FrightFox [2014-12-26 00:22:19 +0000 UTC]
I know for a fact you can get water, fire, and leaf stones if you go in a certain area in the game and encounter a wild Pokemon. If there is a large rock in the background of the wild Pokemon, you can use hyper voice and after you defeat the wild Pokemon it will read you have discovered a stone from the rubble.Β
They've caused me to jump a few times, mainly because the music can be a little creepy in caves and the echo of a Zubat or Golbat can be too eerie, especially how it moves around you.

Room sign and talk box?
π: 0 β©: 1
FrightFox In reply to FreedomFighter34 [2014-12-26 00:38:34 +0000 UTC]
In Mauville Hills Apartments there are little call boxes that you can use to talk to the resident before you enter. Some will reject you and say no, while others will let you in, and some don't have anybody in them. Now when you talk to normal empty apartments it will just say something like. "This room is for lease." and if you knock on the door it says "...There's no reply."Β
In one of the first ones you click on the sign that says something to the effect of: "This unit is vacant. There is a great deal on the lease." When you go to the talk box for that room a text box appears and says, "..." as if there is a pause. Something tells me something bad happened in that apartment. It's subtle but effective.Β
