Description

This wasn’t going to be part of my CRK fanfiction “Cutie and the Beast” but I decided to draw something to show my appreciation of how I loved Werewolf Cookie in game. The first time I heard Werewolf Cookie’s *howling* quotes I was immediately shocked: I was not expecting him to howl when I first leveled him up, so I thought, “how did he do that?!” Then I discovered that the person who voices Werewolf Cookie, Desmond Chiam, also provides the vocal effects of the cake hounds, especially the Crowned Cake Hound (Fun fact: it’s also Desmond’s first voice acting role in ACGN media, which stands for Anime Comic Game Novel).
Anyway, on to the description of this work: Since Rookie Cookie was a bit curious about Werewolf Cookie’s howls (although the first time she heard it she felt shocked), she was interested in learning how to howl like him, but apparently, she wasn’t very good at it. Werewolf Cookie decided to teach Rookie Cookie how to howl like a real wolf, based on the howl's pitch and strength. It was also a good way for Rookie Cookie to warm up her vocals when singing or to control her relaxation during her deep breathing exercises.
Did anyone notice that during Cookie Run Kingdom's The Heroes of Dark Cacao update, Werewolf’s *howling* in the Kingdom (touch) quote was edited? That’s something I’ve noticed since they kept the audio and included the “inhale” at the start (in other words, the developers used the *howling* quote from Kingdom and somehow either made a mistake since its launch or they liked the original recording better than the edited one), though you can almost barely hear it. Before there wasn’t an “inhale” since the English Dub’s release back in October of 2021.

UPDATE (7/6/23): So someone on the unofficial CRK Fandom updated Werewolf Cookie’s voice lines by uploading the quotes in other languages (excluding Mainland Mandarin). Here are my reactions to each of the howls in a different language:

Korean (voiced by Jeong Joo-won 정주원):
~ I gotta say, that howl was “almost” spot on. [Level Up]
~ He’s literally just howling in a soft, yet calm tone, but I have no reaction to that. [Touch in Kingdom]
Japanese (voiced by Kobayashi Yūsuke 小林裕介):
~ After hearing it, I thought it was really good; From what I just heard, the pronunciation was different compared to the English version. [Level Up & Touch in Kingdom]
Taiwanese Mandarin (voiced by Meng Qingfu 孟慶府, who also voices Yam Cookie):
~ This one could use some improvement…but it still got me. [Level Up]
~ Nah, I didn't like that. It sounded like he was attempting to imitate a wolf howl, but it failed. [Touch in Kingdom]
Thai (voiced by Krin Aksorndi กริน อักษรดี):
~ Why does it sound like he’s saying a prolonged “bro” in English?! [Level Up]
~ Calm version of him saying “bro”, but I have absolutely no words/reaction to that. [Touch in Kingdom]
German (voiced by Vincent Fallow):
~ Wow. Can’t believe he nailed the yapping and howling of a wolf like the English version did. That really got me there for a second. [Level Up]
~ Ohohoho-kay. That-that one sounded similar to the English version, but he put in more effort to capture his “agony scream” like quality. That one got me a lot. [Touch in Kingdom]
French (voiced by Martial Le Minoux, who also voices Millennial Tree Cookie):
~ That one stood me there a lot; I feel like I’m hearing a similarity to the English Dub howl. [Level Up]
~ It sounded like he is howling off-key XD [Touch in Kingdom]

I also forgot that Werewolf Cookie has a Gacha theme (after looking at the Gacha background while I was upgrading his candy). I haven’t even got a chance to listen to it, but one of these days I will once I get another duplicate in the gacha (or I’ll hear it in the unofficial CRK Fandom Wiki).
