(Sorry for super wide, bad-quality image and hard-to-understand layout)Since a few people asked, I decided to put up a step-by-step tutorial of how I made my Time Turner (take a look at it here: [link] ).
If you use this tutorial to make a Time Turner, I'll love you forever if you credit me! (if you plan on putting it on dA or anywhere else on the internet).

Hey, I've made half a time turner (i'm at step 5) and I think your tutorial is amazing and so helpful! I do have a question and it's probably a rather weird one but at step 4 you cut the piece of paperclip down to exactly the right size. But won't it slip out of the middle-sized ring? I'm terrible at explaining but I'm scared the smallest ring will slip out because it isn't really secured to the middle sized one. I love this tutorial though, and I hope you'll answer me soon!

Oh sorry for the delay in response! I kind of left deviantART so I didn't see this until now ^_^ I don't have my original time turner with me currently, but I don't remember having any problems with the smallest ring slipping out! I hope it ended up working out, let me know if you need any more help!

An extra thing I added though was a "support piece" from the outermost ring, to the middle ring, so that when spun via the bead on the side, it didn't spin loosely. Other than that, I think it was a great project to work on for the work, and had fun doing it. Keep up the good work

I screwed up at step 7, I don't understand what to do. :/

Ah, okay. By step 7, the piece of paperclip and large beads (assembled in step 1) should be secured inside the smallest and middle keyrings. The middle keyring should have another straight piece of paperclip glued to its edge (refer to step 5). The "beaded paperclip" mentioned in step 7 is the straight piece of paperclip from step 5, with the small bead on it from step 6. You need to line up the middle keyring inside the largest keyring.
Step 7 is tricky because it involves opening the keyring. You know how key rings are basically just tightly wound coils? There should be an end piece overlapping the rest of the ring. You need to lift this end piece and stick the straight beaded paperclip into it, as if the straight beaded paperclip was a key to be attached to the key ring.
I'm really, really awful at explaining things. Let me know if this made any sense. I really want to help you! I'm just awful at explaining, hehe.

The only things that get spraypainted are the metal rings. Now that I've made a few more of these, I've realized that it's much better to spraypaint the keyrings before assembling the time-turner.
It's not a stupid question at all, don't apologize! This tutorial is old and I probably didn't explain everything properly!
But, yeah, my advice would be: spraypaint the rings separately, before trying to put it together. (And then just skip the spraypainting step in the tutorial
