Thanks Kayleyss. Hopefully in the next couple of months I can do something a bit more exciting as my current PC is an old Core 2 Quad with 8GB ram (it's max ram it can take), which is pretty much maxed out once I add a character/clothes/hair lol (swapfile abuse and overnight/all day rendering).
I could have upgraded a while back but end up buying products from Daz/Renderosity etc so have put a stop on that till I can get something more powerful.

Currently looking at a used 6 core Xeon (hyper threaded so 12 cores) and 32GB ram. I don't have a large disposable income (besides I still need to buy content at some stage lol), so ram is more important to me rather than processing power. If I still have to leave it rendering overnight while i'm asleep that doesn't bother me as am used to that
I'm only a hobbyist and not a pro so can make do with lower end/older hardware lol

The thing you need is a good Graphic Card, They do all the work during rendering

Yes, I use 2 Nvidea 980GTX. They are bit old. I heard from other content creators that the 1080 is pretty good. Iray is a GPU core renderer.
