Featured at the Ripley's Odditorium in Orlando, Florida. From the accompanying tag: "Believe it or Not!" A tour guide of Chungking, China, once guided American dignitaries through streets of Chungking by the light of a candle in his head. Inspected by Dr. J. Kaveney of the U. S. Navy, it was found 'that his scalp had been cut through, and an opening to hold the inserted candle had been made through the external plate of the skull and the candle was held in place by melted wax." You know what's really spooky? It was real! He actually lived! This is a wicked strange world we live in and Robert Ripley was all about it. He literally went all over the entire world, to every nook and cranny in a desperate, obsessed search for the crazy and the bizarre. Boy did he find it

If you like, I'll be posting a number more shots from the Ripley's Odditorium in Ocean City, MD as well as from the one in Orlando, FL. Much more odd things will be along in time. I just really, seriously enjoy how whacked-out this world can be and if there were ever a man who was passionate about that, it was Robert L(eroy) Ripley
