Description About an hour's work, DONE COMPLETELY WITH MOUSE.

Too many people confuse laziness with lack of equipment....

I know a good many artists who will loudly profess their desire to paint digitally, but don't have the money to buy a tablet or buy Photoshop or Corel painter and whatnot. It bugs the hell out of me, so I threw this one together to use as proof that it's possible to paint without buying anything.

Ignore the background, I got bored.....and accidentally painted on one layer, so I couldn't have stuff going behind him. And yes, I can make it more detailed, but this is about as far as I want to go with this one. Got to get back to my other painting that's gonna be 10 times more awesome.

Will be moved to scraps later.

I have to admit, sometimes I'm a little guilty of that myself, although for me most of my work is either done (beyond said program, such as Photoshop Elements) is either with a pencil and/or a mouse, I currently have no desires for a wacom tablet and frankly I feel like seeing how far I can go with some things (such as Elements 2.0, more so because it was a hundred dollars that I'm not getting back, and for the time being sure as hell beats the more extreme alternative, at least in my view), before I consider anything else unless I don’t have a choice in the matter.

What you've managed in honesty is pretty impressive, I would need quite the patience with a mouse given in most cases, I'm either going to work off a drawing, photograph, or game screenshot (or perhaps a mix of the 3 in a few cases, although in some cases a background or something else was done on the fly), but I guess it's also a matter of training and what you're used to as well.

Yeah, it is possible to do quite a lot without some expensive programs. Such as what's been done by as an example... I need to say more his way... except that too often I want to say a hell of a lot more than 'cool!' or 'Awesome!'...and tend to ramble... but aside from another rant, it could be argued that isn't a valid excuse either, and I mean not to ramble all the more but I think after this I may just say a few things about some of his recent works given I do have something to say (well the same can be said for a few hundred others too but now I'm really am starting to ramble on and on).

Back on this, I think far as what you wanted to put across, is mission accomplished, I'd bother to nit-pick but I feel like in a way it could be irrelevant, beyond what you’ve said, except to say one of the teeth in the far back could have been filled out a bit better unless it was deliberate, but otherwise, it's very well done.

And well that's it on that.

Don't worry about ranting, your comments are almost always more interesting than most of the stuff I read these days anyhow.

Yeah, I see the problem with the teeth there....I think I meant to work on it, but forgot after I worked on some other part. >_>

And yeah, you've done really well with your stuff so far.

True I guess, but I want to at the least be understood to some good degree, I've noticed progress both personally I've made progress, although I wish I was more quick to these replies.

But then again, think twice, speak once, or in my case, think at least a dozen times, write, re-write, proof-read, review, sleep on it, re-write completely from the get go, only remembering to some extent what you wrote in the past, re-vise, re-think, spell check and THEN put it on.

Ah, towards the tooth comment, not sure what else to say to that...

And thanks for the comment on what I've done thus far, I hope to get better, although personally I still find myself lacking in doing things hand drawn, but one can only get better if they keep working at it, to which I do, when I can.

Heheh, I agree that money is not required, but I really can't believe you'd use a mouse even to make a point if you had a 9x12 intuos.

Great job with the colors and shading in general.

Well, I'd just drawn with the tablet for about an hour and I wanted a change of pace.....and I was too sleepy to frag, so yeah, I decided to do this.

Very impressive. The key to drawing good stuff with a mouse is definitely to use many short strokes. So, if you didn't use Ps or Painter to make this, what package did you use?

All my works are done with the GIMP. Open source Photoshop kind of program. It works really well.

What are you working on next? Will there possibly be any more dinos in the future?

I'm working on a portrait of David Draiman, the lead singer of Disturbed. But I'll probably end up doing a couple more dinosaurs down the road; they're pretty fun to do. Probably'll get more detailed. I don't have to worry too much about proportions so it's just good fun.
