'Chestnuts Roasting' is very similarly themed to 'Fireside Mice' [link] . The difference being a few years more experience on my part!In this image I wanted to really convey a sense of warmth in the room. The fire to be projecting heat.
I also had to roast a chestnut to recall the wrinkled texture of the nut!
Painted in watercolour, gouache and ink.
