Description
'Sharing Secrets' is a painting that worked because of a mistake.I was experimenting with a new charcoal-like pencil. But on applying a wash of watercolour the charcoal substance smeared over the surface, blurring the lines and greying the paper. Fortunately after several more washes of colour the grey added in creating a beautiful atmospheric feel to the work!

*hey Dill, you think we should check up on Peter?
~Uh, hello Gwen? Pete's a ninja! He can handle himself.
*I can shoot a fly off a horse's butt with my eyes closed. besides. if you had to choose between a ninja and me, who'd you choose?
~... i dunno. depends on how big the gun is.
*...
*seriously?
~hey, its past midnight, so if anything freaky were to happen, it would have already happened! so, goodnight.
*fine. but if we wake up tomorrow and find out-
~what? what could possibly happen?!
*Its Halloween Dill. knowing Pete, anything's possible.
~goodnight lady...Β Don't let the Kindermord getcha!

Very pretty! I like how you focus right in o the kids, but then the background of the village and the little details like the mouse in the tree, the cat and the top of the ladder are notice and add extra charm!

I'm glad it works for you. That's the way I compositionally planned it. I've always been fascinated in creating a journey for the eye of the viewer.... Creating a path around the subject!

yes it really gives a great atmospheric feel. Love it. Like Picasso said: You don't make art, you find it lol.

Had to look that up lol, but you are right. But I really believe you can find art, sometimes you make a mistake or something unexpected happens and it turns out very well. I consider that finding art lol.

Indeed, it seems like the mistake worked out to your advantage - it's lovely, and the mood makes it seem as if a thin fog has come over the scene
