Look if I'm going to be doing these regularly I don't have time to be creative with every name okay? Anyway I'm enjoying doing these as a nice little character concept practice. I have to say, redesigning anything about Ruby was pretty tough. Her original design works so well it's hard to come up with something newish. I think I'm going to try and do some kind of conceptual sketch sheet and then one sounds familiar if I can, alternating. This next quarter of classes is going to be living hell for me so I might be missing for most of april and may. . . but hey we'll see.Related content

I love it! Much more practical travel clothes than what she and Nora are currently wearing. I have no problem with girls wearing short clothes, but when you're doing any kind of combat as well as travel combined, you need to use protective gear. This goes for both genders, and all of the men (save for some ridiculous ones) have outfits that make sense.Β
And I know RWBY is an anime, but come on.Β

Yeah, sorry haha I'm such a Spock. If something doesn't sound logical I point it out, though a particular trend might make sense to everyone else it feels impractical and flawed to me. This is my dark side of being a fan, I'm a snob when it comes to books and movies, I always have criticism for something. It's been nice though, helping people with their fanfictions (I tend to Beta read) and so far, my blunt and to the point outlook has been appreciated. It's probably why I keep doing it, because if everyone hated my input then I wouldn't do it.Β

I have a theory about Ruby (actually about Silver Eyed warriors in general, but since she is the only one we currently know...): Her silver eyes allow her to absorb another personΒ΄s soul if she witnesses this personΒ΄s death (or, you know, causes it). This not only allows her to communicate with said person, but also gives her acces to this personΒ΄s Semblance.
I mean, think of it: Ruby with 2, maybe even more, Semblances.

Pretty Awesome, definitely looks and feels stronger and maturer than her academy days presence.
The larger crest on her combat skirt is a nice image, and Idolike the fat she bother to shore up her weakness in close quarter fighting, certainly feels like what she would do on the road.

Yeah, I know. . . unfortunately, it's just how the "j"s look with this font. If I ever get extra time I might try and update this font for the community with a more readable "J"
