What I like most about this picture are the trees. No, not the lighting, but their strangeness. They're definitely different from Terran trees, but not "exotic a.k.a. just plain weird" strange.
Dig the grass, too.

I remember seeing this before, and I just now checked to see if I had commented on it. Oddly enough I hadn't.
Which is strange, considering how beautiful and immersive this picture is. The colors all fit an alien world that is still somewhat like our own. I also like the translucency you put in the alien's fingers. Nice touch.
My only real nitpick is in the way the trees' leaves are illuminated. With the eclipse looking like the main light source, they seem lit from a source far off to the left, and out of the picture frame. Unless you intended this to be a world with two suns (and one being eclipsed), this wouldn't likely be happening.
Overall, this is beautifully done.

So I'm sitting here browsing for wallpaper to go with the new desktop theme I've just set up, and I see this thumb. I'm drawn in like a moth to flame, even though this in no way goes with the color scheme I need.

And so the alien shields its eyes from the eclipse high above, a natural phenomena that shakes this creature's very understanding of the world. I like your alien landscape, and the alien itself.

some of the leaves on the right trees seem too bright at the bottom, but thats nothing in comparison to the quality overall of this ^^
