Description
Groquik used to be the mascot of Nesquik in France. In 1990, he was replaced by Quicky. Why? Because apparently he was too fat and considered a bad role model for kids. He was officially "gone on vacation". That's one freaking long vacation: 20 freaking years!Crackles used to be a brand of chocolate ball breakfast cereals, like the Nesquik cereal. Except it tasted better. And the mascot was cuter. But now it's gone! Nesquik prevails. And that darn rabbit too.
Honestly, rabbits are so cliché as "cute" mascots...

I've heard that a giant yellow dog-like monster with a red and white stripe hat called Groquik (known as Quikáras in Greece) who used to be a mascot of Nesquik in France. He was first introduced in about around of the late 1970's and then he was replaced in 1990 by a famous brown bunny called Quicky.
I thought I never heard about that yellow monster before, ye know.
Anyway, I love Nesquik and it's one of my favourite Nestlé cereals.
Quicky kicks Groquik's and the purple dinosaur or dragon's arse

Have you ever noticed that the Quik Bunny bears this uncanny resemblence to Flash in the children's series Roary The Racing Car? Or maybe it's just me?

Just went to Google Images to check it out. And you're right, the resemblance is indeed uncanny. But then, cartoon characters have many doppelgangers in other series (such as Prince Eric looking a lot like David Seville).

LoL! Here in America, The bunny was the only one we had! In the 80's and current anyway. Back in the 60's there were other mascots for different flavors: a polar bear for vanilla, a lion for chocolate, and a pink bunny for strawberry:[link]
Now the bunny is the uber mascot lol.

And this is the reason we, the French (and the Greek - they also had Groquik), were proud of Groquik as the Nesquik mascot; it made us different, and gave some sort of cultural identity.
Personally, I hardly remember Groquik in my kid days, but I understand the nostalgic 30-somethings perfectly (although I don't feel as much attachment to Casimir).

Tiens, tu regardes "The Angry Video Game Nerd"?
