Union Assault Automaton Mark One, or UAA-M1. This series of droid is the Union's latest effort in developing non-organic troops. These units follow a swarm-type maneuver, utilizing shock troop tactics to overwhelm the enemy with their numbers and constant weapon fire. They can be deployed in large clusters utilizing drone dropships and serve as a vanguard for Union troopers. Field Commanders consider them a vast improvement over the Union's first droid models, which were essentially walking turrets. The UAA-M1 can be given more directives and orders compared to previous units, making them a vast improvement on the battlefield
