i have always wanted to sit down and talk to strangers, the old ones, like what you did. but haven't got the chance to...and guts. another problem for me would be the language barrier.

i am extremely shy as well, that's such a huge barrier for me to overcome. we all have our barriers, but when we begin to talk with people, there's really so much to learn. another fear that I have to overcome at times is the fear of talking to strangers.

i think it'll be great if we can talk to strangers first before taking their pictures. it'll be very very interesting to learn about and from others!
you've managed to talk and take her shots! so you have definitely, slowly overcoming your barrier and fear! good job!!
i just read your blog about Nanay. i'm quite out or words now...so much things happened in life and she's just so strong to carry them on her shoulders. there are a lot of people having almost the same fate as hers though it's impossible for us to help each and every one of them, it's a good move that you shared with Nanay what you have at that point of time. i'm very much sure that she appreciates it more than you could imagine coz for all you know, you're the first to ever care to stop by and talk to her
