Description
The First Robot. Created by Hephaestus’s god of the forge, one of his most ingenious creations yet. Hephaestus was creating a defense system for king Minos, but mortal warriors and weapons wouldn't suffice, so he created an indomitable creation in the shape of a giant man, made of gleaming bronze, endowed with superhuman strength, and fueled by Ichor the life fluid of the gods.

He called this Gargantuan Automaton “Talos” the First Robot. 3 times a day, the bronze giant would patrol for ships and when he spotted one he threw massive boulders at ships, when survives got on land he would heat his metal body red hot and crush them on his chest (Quite a gruesome way to go, if you ask me).

Talos also had a bit of human desire. When Jason and argonauts came to shore they encountered the Bronze robot. The Sorceress Medea spotted a gleam bolt on the robots ankle.

She made a bargain with Talos, if he removed the bolt on his ankle, she would make him Immortal. This resonated in Talos mechanical core. Unaware of his own mechanical nature and human enough to long for eternal life, he agreed.

Medea suspected that the bolt was a flaw in Hephaestus’s design. When they removed the bolt, the ichor flowed like molten lead, draining him of his power source. Talos collapsed in a thunderous crash with a tear running down his bronze cheek.

When Greece became Christian, Hephaestus took his work so Yahweh could not destroy Him. Hephaestus rebuilt Talos to be stronger and more durable.
