Description
Created and rendered with blender 2.5 (internal renderer).Post production done in gimp.
Rendertime 7h on an X4.
~500.000 polygons.
I didnt add DOF on purpose, I wanted to achieve a clean, bright look.
The sky and birds came in during post pro.
I think they are ok, my wife commented like
"Shall that be birds? Could also be dirt on the camera".
Sky and birds are from images with a creative commons licence. Here's the attribution:

Thanks for watching, all comments appreciated.

The whole thing was inspired by the recent tutorial series of Andrew Price (also mentioned this in the WIP):

As I'm just finishing Andrew Price's tutorial; I wish I had the skills to apply the techniques taught in the tutorial to something as original and creative as your image. Something I can aspire to, though.

the birds are definitely discernable and add intrigue/mystery to the architecture....

I didn't think of the birds as dirt at all, don't worry. I really love the concept for this. I think there's actually a building that twists like that (in Singapore I believe), but this just shows that you can think outside the box with everything, even skyscrapers. Well done!

That's great! Firstly I think the birds look like birds Then I really thought this was a photo, until I noticed that this picture was just in my blender folder
Great work, especially with the texture of the wall and all those details!
