Description It's like a local urban legend in the Philippines. I first read about this in Nick Joaquin's short story, "May Day Eve".

However, my interpretation of this urban legend was inspired by a forwarded text message I received from one of my friends a year ago. It told a story that went like this:

"Once there was a girl who stood in front of a mirror with a candle in the dark. She wants to see who she's going to marry but ended up seeing the devil who told her 'don't tell anyone'. She grew up in fear, refusing to tell the story to anyone until she met a man who became her husband. Eventually, her husband noticed that there was something wrong with her so she finally told him. Afterwards, she was finally relieved that she let it out of her chest for the first time. However, to her surprise, her husband held her and said, 'I thought I told you not to tell anyone?'"

Creepy? Funny? You don't know what to feel?
Well that's how I interpreted it. Done out of whim.

Well she did end up marrying the devil.

Did the coloring in a manner different from the way I'd usually color my works-- out of experimentation.

I know that the characters resemble Light Yagami and Wedy from Death Note.

Thanks to for tips and tricks.

Hm, reminds me of a folk tale about a japanese blizzard spirit called yuki onna.

Different way of reaching the climax but same basic idea...

Nice. Ill fave it.

I really like the comic, it's very haunting. Tell me, is this actually a filipino folk tale, or did Joaquin create the story?

I think it was already an old Filipino folktale that Joaquin just cited in his "May Day Eve" to further emphasize the story and how the events turned out in it.
