I just went through all of my steps and tested my map. it crashed my game when I tried to load it up. How can I avoid that? I use GIMP.

You made sure to merge all of your layers when you were finished? You should be using a .jpg or .png file I believe and it must be the correct size (and name correctly) otherwise Feral Heart will crash. It's a pretty glitchy system, and sometimes it just takes restarting your game and trying again.

I have done so and it works now, thank you. ^o^
I managed to create a realistic desert island terrain and it looks pretty cool. ^-^ I changed my method so it's slightly different to yours. It has some pretty cool effects. I call it 'The Ripple Effect.' Because it looks like it's on water. Anyway, thank you for the useful tutorial!

Thank you so much for this! I have always wondered how you as well as other people were able to do that with their maps and always told myself "I wish I could do that." And now I can! I am starting to go from those basic maps to something more like this. I always had that problem with flat land and not knowing what to do with it and now I rarely have a lot flat land and more of little spots with flat land. c:

And for some gamers, it gives them a feel of their 'natural habitat's' Some of these maps on the tutorial make me want to think of World of Warcraft.
