In EMS, like many professions, workers develop a jargon among themselves. Also like in many professions it is best to avoid using this jargon around laypeople, though in EMS that is not just to avoid misunderstandings...While I have never seen this scenario play out in the field, I can see it happening.

And all present in the picture agree with you. Part of my decision to draw this comic is as a warning to myself at work as I suffer from something I have termed "chronic oral pedal insertion", i.e. putting my foot in my mouth, and thusly stand at great personal risk of doing this sort of thing. Therefore I have for myself many reminders, like this comic, to be ever vigilant of my own damn mouth.
