If you want to see how good ERB was at imaginative writing read Gods of Mars. His detailed description of the strange Plantmen of Barsoom for example. Most sequels are a let down, but not this one. Even John Carter is amazed at what he's seeing...when he's not to busy kicking ass. I wasnt totally satisfied with this Labor Day effort but it catches some of the wild color of the book. Drawing a plantman is only marginally easier then drawing a greenman. I wasnt brave enuff to try putting budding offspring under his armpits. So sue me.Related content

thanks. i was a bit unsure of the sky and may change it sometime. martian backgrounds are hard to do. i liked your thark sock puppet by the way. you should make more and sell them to ERB fans. i will buy one no problem. that would look great on my sofa. let me know if you ever decide to sell one.

I really like your sky, actually. it's like it's got movement and texture. I'm a sucker for those rich jewel colors, too.
Right now I just don't have time to make sock creatures to sell. Having to work a regular job kinda kills it. But should I get to the point where I can, I'll be sure to make it known. That would be a dream! My sister and I both LOVE doing it.
