BEWARE OF SEMI-LONG RANT.
Augh. I know a lot of people who hate Twilight, especially now that it's gaining popularity. Unfortunately, this is also the reason why more and more people like Twilight. My question is: WHY?!
For one, THE MAIN CHARACTERS ARE ALL FUCKING MARY SUES. Bella is so ridiculously clumsy that, rather than being an endearing character trait, it's a huuuuuge fault. Not only that, but EVERYONE. LOVES. HER. Now why is that? Especially considering the fact that, ummm, she's not supposed to be pretty? Not only that, but she can be such a bitch, too. And in Eclipse, she's downright horny. Pretty sickening, consider the one she wants to get it on with is dead. Damn necrophiliac...
Then there's Edward. He sucks at life, seriously. LOL 102-year-old virgin, anyone? Drama queen. Priss. Tries to be virtuous by refusing to have sex with Bella and PRETTY MUCH ATTEMPTING TO FREAKING RAPE HER AT THE END OF ECLIPSE. WATCHES HER SLEEP. Stalked Bella. And you know what? She didn't even care. She was actually FLATTERED that a potential murderer was following her around and staring at her through her window. Wow. No teenage girl can seriously be that trusting.
And then there's Jacob, who I was too lazy to draw. Two words: Fucking. Rapist.
Okay, so putting characters aside, let's talk about the plot. See the size of the book? Well, take a #2 pencil and admire it's size. Got it to memory? Well, if you chopped out all the bullshit and about 9/10 of Bella's thoughts focused on Edward, that's what the size of Twilight would be. As stated above, in the illustration, 298 pages in New Moon was wasted on the fucking "gaping hole" in Bella's chest. Errr, okay. But Jacob tried to help her! That was made null and void by the fact that she fucking left him to go with the guy who LEFT HER IN THE MIDDLE OF A FOREST AT LIKE MIDNIGHT.
Then there's Eclipse. Oh, Eclipse. Why oh why is Bella important enough to warrant a fucking VAMPIRE ARMY TO GO KILL HER? Seriously. And, oh look! She decides she loves BOTH Edward and Jacob (that whore!)~ Eeeyeah. Okay.
So yeah. I'm really far too lazy to rant more about how there's a lack of real plot and character depth. Yeah...

I may sound like a hypocrite, but I dislike Bella and Edward and I wish Meyer would focus on the rest of the Cullens, the Volturi and the other werewolves (NOT JACOB) more. They all have pretty interesting back stories and a few of them actually put time and effort into their relationships.

People always get mad at me for not liking twilight (saga doens't deserve uppercase) because I used to and they won't believe me when I say edawrd cullen (lowercase, he doesn't deserve uppercase) isn't real. The book sends a lot of badd messages (ex. bella, who doesn't deserve uppercase, got pregnant in breaking dawn, a book that doesn't deserve uppercase). bella is a whiny crybaby, and I'm sick of the crazed fantards who used to be my friends at school.
But this comic was an EPIC WIN.

I noticed the reference towards Ebony immediately and then I read your artist comments and had a smile on my face. She actually deleted that story now because the attention it was getting was spazzing her brain out, or at least that could be my theory however.
Twilight lacks a good plot, character depth and please; Do not make me start about the sparkles. Since when do vampires sparkle anyway? I watched the movie, it was even worse there. It was like a 4-year old from kindergarten spilled his glitters all over him. It was horrible.
Fortunately I could not come any further than a few sentences in the first book because the conversations were awful. Then the sparkling came along and so here I am.
"I love you Bella," he said.
"I love you too Edward," she said
"O yes. Very interesting, I do too." he replied.
I mean.. Seriously. Would that stand for a proper conversation? And blood-sucking creatures are supposed to be.. Murderous and blood-sucking. O yes vampires could very much engage themselves with the human species, though they despice them with a burning passion, and they might develope certain feelings for them after a while, other feelings than the bloodthirst of course, and then they just might get some sorts of bond with them. But that takes far much longer than.. Well. This. Vampires are on a killing spree, they should stay that way.
Ah long rant was long. I could make it far more long but I suppose the rant of how that book's now been translated in my language makes me sad. It's even worse than the English version.

Actually, Fanfiction itself deleted My Immortal because of their personal reasons - probably because they realized it was the greatest troll ever.
Most of the conversations are either shallow or drag on for way too long. Totally unrealistic. Personally, I would not sit around and wait for someone to finish a dramatic speech (even if it was about how much they love me, how amazing I am, etc.)

You make a lot of good points, but Twilight really isn't that bad, I mean if it was, why would there be an enormous craze over it? I think the characters do have depth, I don't want to argue, because you have a right to your opinion, but a lot of the things you talk about are big character traits. Like Bella's clumsiness or Edward's need to blame himself for everything. The plot isn't bad either and don't forget, this book is a fantasy! It is completely fictional! The reason an army of newborn vampires was after her is all explained, all a part of the complex story line! And of course this would not happen in real life, no army of undead would go after a simple teenage girl, but it's a fairy tale!!! That is Stephenie Meyer's way of making her book exciting! So, keep that in mind. And nobody's trying to rape anyone, there's just a seriously screwed up love relationship going on! It's true love! So I really like Twilight. And may I ask, if you hate it so much, why do you have the books? Are you sure you don't hate it just because you want something to hate? That's all. Bye!! (And please don't be offended by my comment, I'm just another obsessed fan)

Okay, (no, don't worry I'm not going to freak out on you xD)
Personally, I enjoyed reading the books, they're not really top scale literature, but it's fine for an afternoon. The only thing I would have to say I disagree with you on, is that being popular makes it good. This is not so. Big Mac's are popular, and while they may be tasty, they're really just cheap. I think it's the same thing with Twilight in a way, they're fine for a snack-reading, but they're not really that in-depth.
