robal [2005-06-08 11:35:21 +0000 UTC]

man, the perspective makes you look at this image completly differently. obviously you see the shadows as the children, and it is difficult to grasp what the actual perspective is. Aswell as this, the children are relating to each other (physically) in a different way to the shadows, the shadows look close together whilst with the children there seems to be some distance between them. But in a non-physical sense, the shadows seem closer than the children, from my point of view atleast. The question is, is this simply because the perspective of the image has been flipped, and hence the level importance of the shadows increases. What I am saying is: Would I look at this picture in the same way if i saw it from its 'normal' perspective?

Either way, a nice picture that made me think, thank-you

All you said is true.
The flipping changes the way you look at it.
Also, the kids were standing not on a plain surfce, but more of a pyramide, making the shadow fall in a different angle "closer" to them.
Well seen

That is a really interesting angle, I stared for 2-3 full minutes till I was convinced that the shadows belonged to the children... I love how you made the shadows the main characters and not the children

This just proves it is a matter of perspective and changing one's perpective can yeild different and surprising results!! Love how the focus is on the action of what the shadows are doing, it is only after we look upon the shadows that we follow them to their source. And but for a moment we do not see the people as the source of origin because the actions of the two sets "appear" to be different . It fools our eyes into seeing this as two seperate distinct sets of "objects" when in fact they are not; they are connected. Well done.
