I hope so, feel free to suggest ideas, too.  I just had another one I need to add to the queue.  I feel like I've neglected the community for a while now.  I had wanted to do such features before but never found the time.  Well, homeschool season is almost over, so no excuses!    hooray!

homeschooling sounds like a lot of work. May I ask the reason you take on that much work? (if it's too personal just don't answer)

My son gave a very hard time with school.  In Kindergarten, he was suspended 10 times!  It was a little ridiculous.  He was not that awful, but they didn't want him there.  He saw suspension as a reward.  They were on the verge of expelling him if he didn't qualify for special needs.  So we decided to homeschool.  And we have for the past 3 years now.  He is finishing up 2nd grade now.  Very stressful as he is still extremely uncooperative about it.  I told him if he doesn't straighten up his act, he will be doing summer school.  

I think he might have Asperger's.  He fights us on everything.  Brushing his teeth, eating, getting dressed, and exhibits other behaviors that might indicate that as well.  The school system is supposed to be giving us assistance to reintegrate him back into public school.  But they just have us sit in meetings about what they plan to do but don't...  And they call once a month to ask questions about progress.  I report no progress but they fill out their little graph like they are helping and his performance is improving when it's not.  I recently e-mailed them when they sent me a note saying they are done for the year.  We're not getting help.  It's very frustrating.  So I get nothing accomplished, I am so stressed out I veg out on Netflix and Hearthstone to keep me from pulling out all my hair.

I am burnt out.  Our hope is to get him back in public school this year.  I cannot keep doing this.

I'm sorry that it took me so long to get around to answering. I thin part of it is due to my loss at what to say actually. In Germany, homeschooling is practically unheard of because in the past, they wanted to make sure no child could be kept at home to be forced to work [on the farm or wherever] instead of getting an education now we have compulsory school attendance. For me, I've only ever heard of US people homeschooling because of religious preferences (which I find highly doubtful, but that may also be very German of me ). That someone can be more or less forced to do it because the public system just fails like in your case is new to me. It's sad and pathetic. I very much hope you'll find a better solution than the current one (which is not a solution at all).

Thanks, I hope so.  Summer is doing well, he's being more helpful with chores and not giving a hard time about daily routines.  I think we're impressing on him the impact of his actions and the consequences of refusing to cooperate.  That it equals no computer!    We have had so many boring lectures on following directions.

And yes, I learned that there is a majority of the people who homeschool, it is because schools are secular. There are a lot of faith based homeschool programs and resources and the secular stuff seems to be less.  I never knew that, I had always wanted to homeschool not knowing the reality of what it entails (no freedom from the kid forever!).  I just hope he can reintegrate into the public school system.  He really would be so much happier making friends and such.

We've decided to start him out homeschooling this year.  We'll see how it goes later on to see if he is ready for public school.

Don't worry, I hope to post many challenges and you can do old challenges whenever you want.  The project is meant to be inspiration for themes.  So older ones can be revisited.  ;D  So maybe you will have free time again.

Hum.. Galaxies associate with starry nights in my mind. These days I live in the countryside and nights are wonderful there. Also, heh.. I saw small bat yesterday. It was flying near the earth during some minutes and then disappeared in the night.
Maybe this short story will help you. ^^

I'll add a theme for bats or rural nights.  Maybe bats will be better for closer to Halloween ;D  I saw a bat yesterday night, I was camping in the backyard with my son.  We camped out all day yesterday.  We live in a rural area as well.  Full moon was brilliant.  And during the day, there was this curious dragonfly that kept flying and hovering around me, checking me out.  It was a hand's breadth out of my reach and stayed there before swooping out and back.  So funny.
