asked me to design her a map of the fictional region in which her story takes place. She gave me verbal pointers for where the different places should fall on the actual map, and I had to make a visual version of what she described.At first I was a little intimidated, but I quickly realized how much fun it was to draw maps, especially for fantasy worlds! I made a flat, traditional map, and a sort of "from a boat in the sea" view of the place.

you've got decidious forests on the Kyrelean mountains sloping down to Val Mishrak, but these 'slopes' are higher up than the corniferous forest south of it below it. That is not possible... higher altitudes are always colder, meaning the higher you get, the more corniferous instead of decidious you get.
The forests in the Kyrelean mountains could lay in valleys, with the corniferous forest south of the mountains being situated on a flat upland, higher than or as high as the mountains.. Then the map would be correct but the "from a boat" view would not be erronous.

Well, the layout was decided /completely/ by the client, meaning I had no say in its geographical layout, which is pretty obvious to anyone who knows what a commisison is. just saying.

this is incredibly beautiful... I feel like it's me on a boat looking at the view. Your colouring is so gorgeous and vintage-y, like these were found as pages in a very old book! It was a lot of fun seeing its beginnings on livestream.

LOL i love how this show actually has more serious undercurrents, as it's set in a post-apocalypse world, where we may presume humans ruined the world by polluting it to the brink of destructions.
Plus all the abandoned computer chairs and random tvs with trees growing out of them are lol-worthy.
