i got the darkness by changing the white- and blackpoint.
dont know how to explain. ever done a hdr?

hdr made with photomatix (6 pictures from -3 to +2 e.v.). then tonemapping. and finally some curve corrections with psp9.

This one looks like orcs should be coming over the hill any minute from Lord of the Rings.
This one shows off more of the detail that seems to get lost in the other one, brings the house out quite a bit.
