My submission to the Artist Training Grounds event on EqD (which is currently postponed...). Day two's assignment was to draw a pony in training.

Originally, I was going to have Icicle Gleam beating a straw dummy senseless with his sword, but decided to make it something a little more fun thanks to the time extension. So I figured, who better to spar with than Rainbow Dash? They'll both probably end up with some bruises by the time they're done training for the day.

The training armor they're both wearing is based off the one seen in Hearth's Warming Eve.

I've also taken a shot at making a background for the picture, rather than having them float on thin air. What do you all think?

EDIT: Removed the... *ahem*... oddity from Rainbow Dash's left foreleg.
