Right, so… the reason why i chose this book is because:

This just makes me feel young, it's like you were there, like it actually happened. It makes you feel the need to go tread the waters and go on an adventure yourself. Kinda like what Disney does. So when i read about this contest, the first thing i thought of was this book. I knew this is the book that i'd use.

i began sketching and making concept arts of the characters and also making a storyboard. I drew some of my favourite scenes and decided to choose what i should enter. But none of those drawings seemed to fit my taste. So i did some research on some pirate history and listened to some pirate songs (YO HO YO HO A PIRATE'S LIFE FOR MEEEE!!) and days past and i was still thinking of what i should do. i settled on making a poster, originally i wanted submit two entries (but the same book) but i thought that i had no time, since i'm quite busy with my life too.

I was inspired by Alice in the wonderland and The little mermaid, when i was drawing Hilary. First i coloured her vest teal but then i changed it since it might look like Flynn Rider/Eugene fitzherbert's. I did A LOT of erasing and redrawing (mostly the eyes ;- and i must say, i am quite happy with the result.
