Description
Heh... I almost went through Gen 3 Pokemon I haven't drawn without doing Sceptile. Good thing I caught on to that. So, have any of you played Pokemon Conquest? I ask because that game, apart from being one of the strangest Pokemon crossovers ever (Yeah, I'm sure every Pokemon fan has heard of Nobunaga's Ambition), also has a Sceptile feature in it. The Warlords (Not trainers) tend to look a bit like the Pokemon they like the best. So naturally, the guy who has a Sceptile is a massive flirt, and the Sceptile behaves in a similar way. Anyway, that's where this pose comes from.
Sceptile suffers a bit from what I like to call "The Grovyle Curse" which refers to the incredibly rare scenario where the 2nd evolution actually looks better/is more popular than the final evolution in a 3 stage evolution line. This happened to Sceptile when Grovyle got a massive spike in popularity after the second Mystery Dungeon game. Venusaur suffers from it as well, ever since Ivysaur was a playable character in Smash Bros. Brawl.
Up until now, I'd been posting pictures in the order I drew them, but this one was just drawn 2 days ago, so I've jumped ahead a bit, and of course I would be trying out a different idea when it came to shading when I do that. What do you think?
