Description
[STH #239]: When Eggman learned that Elias and his family had taken refuge in Feral Forest, he sent Mecha Sally to kill them. After Team Fighters saved them, Elias secretly escaped back to New Mobotropolis to join the Secret Freedom Fighters.Those glowing red eyes. That can only mean one thing.... Geoffrey is a Terminator!
This part went through a major rewrite because I initially forgot that Elias' return to New Mobotropolis was a secret. In the first draft, Elias and Meg are talking in the crowd when they have an unpleasant run-in with Geoffrey. I decided to save this confrontation for later and have Nicole deliver the news about Geoffrey instead.

The citizens still don't know yet that Geofrrey St. John is being possessed by Naugus. Now that Naugus is in St. John's body, it won't be long now till everyone in New Mobotropolis finds out about it and when that happens that would hopefully give Elias the opportunity he needs to take back the crown.

I'm really enjoying the interaction between Elias and Meg. The way she obviously cares deeply for him coupled with her shrewd political sense automatically makes her feel much more intelligent than she ever came across to me in the comics.
It took me a while to figure out who "St. Connery" is. Was that your idea or an actual location that I don't recall? A bit poetic for them to be perched up there during this scene.
I remember wondering how exactly it helped Naugus to possess someone. Yeah, he might be stronger physically, but at the same time I doubt that's going to prevent the deterioration of his fractured mind.

The chapel is a new location. It seemed the belfry would be an ideal location for the Acorns to meet undisturbed amidst the hubbub of the festivities, but there was no such building listed on the map of New Mobotropolis. Why do you think the city has no place of worship?
And I figure that Naugus' physical and mental deterioration are connected. You prevent one, you prevent the other.

I think the lack of religious accommodations for your average Mobian has more to do with the writers' desire to aim for escapism without entangling themselves in anything too specific and risk offending Protestants or whoever.

Poor Elias... I can feel his bittersweet taste to see his home (and all that ir represents) crashing with the fact than he cant talk it himself...
I understand than he wants to take care his people... but he wants to made than his family was proud of him...
