So here's a lone Young Male Medic adventurer from Etrian Odyssey IV (which I am super hyped about) being chased by one of the most iconic FOEs within the series.
In EO3 my party was utterly destroyed by this lovely Deer from hell when I tried to challenge it as a newbie :'D
Anyways, Young Male Medic and Young Male Fortress are my favorite character graphics so far in EO4 o3o So they're definitely going to be in my party, whenever I get my hands on the game.
...and now I must go and finish other schoolwork like a good, studious person -dies-

Etrian Odyssey is a relatively minor series, so it's no surprise xD They're all on the DS, and the newest one- EO4 -is on the 3DS, and it's going to be released pretty soon in Japan, and probably eventually localized in the West since the last three games were all localized before.
The game system itself is pretty simplistic and more than a little bit challenging (dungeon crawling + map making, along with typical but somewhat strategical turn-based battling), but the character designs are definitely amazing- they're by Himukai Yuuji, who is incidentally one of my most favorite artists~ owo
I'd love for more people to get their hands on the series, but it's the sort of game series that people either love or hate- it's really very time consuming and the difficulty is unbelievable in some of the first levels, yet it's so addicting once you get into it (if you decide against throwing the game at the wall at it's initial stages.)
and the storyline is very open-ended so it leaves character/scenario-centric players either unsatisfied or making headcanons for their adventuring parties (that's what I do fufufu)

but I'd definitely recommend getting into Etrian Odyssey Sammy :'D I've only played EO3 so far since the past two have some glitches and bugs, so I'd say EO3 is probably a good place to start if you want to get into it; unless, of course, you're willing to wait for EO4 to come overseas- EO4 seems like it's going to be a super amazing 3DS game that's more open to casual players than the past games, since it has the option of an 'Easy' mode ouo

It definitely sounds like my kind of game and I can play Japanese ROMs on my PC even though my knowledge of Kanji is terrible so I only understand 30% of what I read. /shot
But I can handle difficulty early on. I don't know if you've played Final Fantasy Crisis Core but I started with hard mode on that and loved the challenge of it. xD
And I just googled Himukai and I recognise a lot of the art from somewhere but I can't remember where. o^o
I love games with ambiguous character relationships. So many headcanons and ships to be made. <3 You and I should have a big feels fest about this when I get it and Tales games as well~
I'll try and find the first two cheap, but I'll definitely get the third one when I'm not broke. xD And hopefully the fourth one if it comes out over here~

Well that's good! oUo A lot of people get so frustrated with the game and never try to go further than the first levels with it.
So I don't have anyone to really fanboy with over this series ;A; It's such a delicious game but it really doesn't get much attention.
I think Himukai used to be a doujinshi artist before he went pro .o. and now he mostly works for games, I think, particularly for Atlas.
but i love his style so much it's so lovely *A*
and the thing about Etrian Odyssey is that you make your own party, so there is ~*~infinite freedom~*~ to what you do with them |D There aren't even permanently set genders for the character graphics so you could reasonably say a Male CharacterGraphic is actually a female or vice versa ;D
AND THAT MEANS
WE COULD EVEN SHIP OUR OWN PARTIES WITH EACH OTHER IF WE WANTED TO FFFF

Well I'll check Amazon and stuff now and then I don't actually get any money until July but I should have enough for the third game and maybe the others if they're cheap enough~
I feel like that with a manga series I love called Little Butterfly. It was only three volumes but even after it was translated and released over here it was widely ignored but it's so precious and I have so many feels for it. ouo
