Oh. I forgot to write that ...
They're Franz Ferdinand, a band from Scotland which we saw live last Sunday in Vienna. Front Row pictures.ยด
You probably wouldn't like them.

I know Franz Ferdinand. How can one forget such an unusual name for a band? Saw the concert posters. I have no clear idea which music they make, so it's really too early to say if I like them or not. But you seem to know me better. Well, you're right, it's probably not my genre. However, I'm always willing to give bands a listen. Hey, I even bought the latest Placebo for 2nd hand recently. And this was my first Placebo CD ever.

Since I bought the CD... I don't usually by CDs blindly. I had listened to that particular album, i.e. "Sleeping With Ghosts", a couple of times at a friend's place. And it stuck in my ears, so I had to get it when I saw it for 2nd hand. And yes, I enjoy it. I'm certainly interested in getting the previous albums as well. I do know the famous songs from them, of course.

I love them all (the albums) but that's probably because I give my love quite unconventionally once I fell in love with a band/person. Black Market Music is probably their best album. It's smooth, the way one song flows on into the next ... nearly perfect. I've probably listened to it too much already, because I'm starting to get borded with it. Without You I'm Nothing: it's a bit darker, more depressed, but "Pure Morning" is such a lovely song! It makes me think of that one, wet day after that one wet night in the tent at the Frequency Festival last year. It's the soundtrack to that morning, and it was perfect for it.
First, self-titled album: well, it's a first album. Back then Brian's voice didn't really sound like it does now. But there's a couple of good songs on it.
Anything else? The Sleeping With Ghosts Covers Bonus cd: very good. Where is my mind, Johnny & Mary, Running up that hill, Bigmouth Strikes again are good. 20th Century Boy, as well. They're all good, except for Daddy Cool, which is horrible if you ask me. But that's probably because of the song ...
Oof. I love to talk about music, can you tell?

Of course you love music. I've known that for quite some time, you know. And it's a good thing. It doesn't matter which kind of music, since you probably won't find two people with exactly the same taste in music. No, what I'm talking about is a general love, appreciation and excitement for music. And that's something you have or don't have. I have it. I would find it very strenuous to be or to talk with someone who just listens to everything or has no real opinion on music and whom it doesn't touch on more than just a superficial level. Now, that's why I can perfectly understand that you could write on for ages, since the same thing is true for me. Ask me about a band, about my musical interests, and I will rant. So it's good to see it works with others, too. Music is just so very important in our lives.

Thanks for describing the earlier Placebo albums for me. I will probably sooner or later get the one with "Every You And Every Me" on it, since that is a song I also like. But it all depends on what the 2nd hand CD store has.
