Description Well, I got into Chainmaille... This is the beginning of my first piece. I kept it simple, big rings, relatively thin wire (18 guage steel wire). I will keep posting images as this gets bigger and better. But tomorrow my hand needs a break, it's sore from all the ring cutting.

EDIT: forgot to mention, this is ~10 hours of work

Stay tuned, and perhaps oncce I'm feeling comfortable with this, I'll start doing commissions.

I've been lazy recently, I've finished a vest about 3 weeks ago but I haven't got around to putting up pictures yet, plus I started work on a head and shoulder piece that's just barely started. Keep in touch and I'm sure you'll see things you are interested in!

Not too bad... don't get angry but I think u can do better than this... I've done a whole chainmail in less than 1 week with precutted rings. I know that cutting rings by yourself is great but it is also tiring and probably full of errors.
If u want some other advices plz contact me on msn and i'll be pleased to help u... i've got a long long experience with chainmail.

I don't know why exactly, but I like cutting the rings myself. This piece was my first and there are lots of errors in it, I know I can do plenty better. I just went out and bought a smaller dowel, so that alone should make them look a bit better. Also, as far as time goes, I'm battling dorm distractions as well as ineperience. give me a few pieces and I'm sure I'll be doing much better. I hope you'll stay tuned and offere advice whenever.

have you tried making maille with a half inch dowel at 14 gauge. it looks great and works.

please check out my other page here! [link]

This is a poor representation of how my maille progressed, but the other page will show me off better.
