The trickster god from native americans never died though, he went into hiding.
The gods that die are usualy demigods. the Norse pantheon is full of men who became gods like Odin so they die, greek pantheon is the same since they need ambrosia,
babilinians have nergal and such, baal and whatnot who are still around,
egypt gods killed eachother because it was a way to explain how
the sects in each pantheon would overtake each one. If one sect was prevalent
some dtsroyed (killing followers) and some allied with that sect as a main sect,
that would be eplained as a dead god and Rah had allies, if the sect became alive again,
and did trechery it was an evil god who was playing dead. Same for fraternal relations.
In the books of genesis if I am not mistaken they speak of spirits who wandered the earth
and asked G-d to let them mate with human females, hey were allowed this and it says that great creatures and heroes rose from that union, they are the nephilim
but some can be even said to start followings for themselves, and heroes like heracles too.
