Skipping ahead to the first major battle of the civil war, when Alrik Skalindar's army moves south to fight the nearing Rebel army.

Alrik Skalindar is one of the many family members, he's a cousin to the head of the Skalindar clan: Jorsun Skalindar.

There's a long background to the fantasy universe created:

After the Black War ended, the country of Eucadia (what was left of it [After the Black wars had stripped the land of nearly all of its magic, the very aura and essence that kept the Eucadian government, military, AND country running, eventually led to the Eucadians not knowing how to function properly thus their military weakened and unable to hold onto land or fight, plus its military had been drastically reduced after the Black Legions had nearly crushed them all. This Caused the Eucadian Empire to be drastically reduced in size, leading other countries to splinter off and be created]) developed a new calendar to mark the beginning of a new era.

From 1 - 350 Eucadia fell into a state of collapse, leading Eastonia, which hadn't ever adapted to magic and gotten used to life without the need for magic to become the new leading world power, renaming themselves the Eastonian Caliphate.

1456 Nordic Civil war begins.
