Description This is just a quick comic to practice action poses, since you learn more by doing a comic than just pin-ups. I don't expect this to last long at all, IF I do continue it. I'm still not sure if I want to.
Sorry about the messiness. This is the first comic I've ever really made. I did the drawings (of course), the panel work (including the borders, which was suppose to be done by a friend of mine who's better at this than me but he broke his promise with me to do this as a favor to go play more WoW by himself), and the coloring and etc.
The panel is bad, and the lines are very wobbly. If anyone knows how to make straighter lineart, I wouldn't mind the advice.
And sorry for the crude drawing and coloring of the monster. I never drew a robot or monster before and I only practiced doing this one just once.
The reason I did two pages at once was because the first page isn't very exciting, is it?
If you have any other problems with it, tell me, and I'll try to fix it next time. I need the help.
I'm going off now... I'm just suddenly depressed by this.

Other than the shoe in the top panel...the line thingy on there is crooked...and the dragon's teeth, it looks alright to me...the boxes seem right

hey!!! for a first timer this is really good!!! i ain't gonna critique it or nothin' cuz i know i got some major problems myself....but i'll try to help ya with lineart- first off your lineart is very good and i know that coloring covers up the wobbleness (trust me, inking these things are horrid so dont feel so bad) what i do is after i draw the page, i go over the lines with a mechanical pencil. and then i ink it. i know that manga/comic artists use nib pens and ink but id much prefer micron pens (so much easier to use) get sizes 005, 01, 02, and 05 for different line weight. far away scenes or something extremely detailed should be used with smaller points such as 005. for close ups, use the larger tips.

and if you want i could give ya some advice on the layout. draw a very rough sketch of your layout...this'll help you plan out what you what to be seen and said on the page and its very easy to go back and change things (hell. you should see some of my rough sketches- i use stick figures for crying out loud)

well, i hope this works out for you and if you have any more queries, dont hesitate to ask.

Sorry. I guess my question was open for interpretation. I meant lineart on PC with a tablet. I traced the entire thing in Photoshop.
And, yeah, I do the same thing with layout. I always draw a rough sketch of what my comic or drawing is going to look like and go back to that. I was just being stupid or lazy or something and didn't fix my layout problem here.
Thanks for the advice though. I have my own special, mechanical pencil The same one that I use for all my drawings, since last year. Hasn't failed me once.

Oh, yeah, I forgot to mention: I colored the monster purple is because I'm a big Evangelion fan. I tried to make it purple and green like Unit-01, but I just couldn't get it to work.

lol, I love Eva. I love the art style.
I'm one of those people that buy anything related to it. I'm doing my best to collect the Platinum series.
And I'm always mad that it takes about a year for a new volume of the manga to come out!

lol, I was never that obsessed with Eva (after I bought the box set of the anime, the first OST, and the first three manga I quit...theres to much stuff) Although I plan on continuing the manga ... someday(I also plan on buying a Rei and Asuka import figure from Media Play. So cute X3) Eva has a good art style, I'll admit that. Although I've seen better(I say that because I'm a bigger CLAMP fan)

I couldn't stand CLAMP after I read and saw Chobits. The ending to that SUCKED. It... just lacked a climax. It was doing good until the end. Most of the others were bit too girly for me to stand (Cardcaptors.... Tsubasa....). And I couldn't get into Xholicx (or whatever it's called, I forget) quick enough. I guess I just think that the characters there are a bit 'too' good looking.
But just about everybody else likes CLAMP. I must not be seeing something that everyone else is.

Nandemonai In reply to goeth [2005-01-02 00:45:57 +0000 UTC]

maybe not. I'll admit that the ending to Chobits did suck (I've never seen the anime version. but from the manga it sucked) CCS was a bit girly, but then again that was one of the things that got me slightly interested in anime (that and Sailor Moon. you can so tell I'm a girl XD although Eva did take the biggest toll on me Therefore it's favoured over all) The characters are a bit good looking (then again it's shoujo and most shoujo things are pretty and good looking in such in my opinion) Although I'll just buy CLAMP manga to look at the art (I do read it that'd be a waste of money if I didn't), also sometime the art gives off an EGL look (And EGL is probally my fav fashion out there)

elegant gothic lolita (refered to as gothic lolita) another version is EGA (elegant gothic aristocat..or something) even though it has the word gothic in it it's such a pretty fashion(based off of 19th and 18th century clothing)

Oops. All this time, I thought it meant "Elegant Girly Loser".
Heheh... I have some people I need to apologize too.
I've done EGL drawings about twice, but never posted them up. Some of them are really hard to do. The gothic clothing style for females can be so difficult sometimes.

O__o Elegant Girly Loser?

Well EGL is pretty hard to do (and I've heard it's hard to sew the outfits. I haven't tried yet though) Lately I've been drawing EGL a lot

Yeah, I noticed. That.... girl who's really a boy... thing... yeah...
And Elegant Girly Loser sounds plausible.
Oh yeah, happy new year.

awe, there is nothing wrong with crossdressing in my opinion (look at Mana of Malice Mizer or Aya of Psycho le cemu! it works for them!)
If you think it's plausible then that's your train of thought (or whatever you wish to call it)
Happy new Year to you too

I tend to look at the killer from Silence of the Lambs and Huck Finn in the Huckleberry Finn novel.
Those poor, poor men. Panties were not designed for them.
Actually, I liked that character that you just posted up. I think I'd like to use him once (just once). Do you mind?
