Why do these things take me SO LONG to do. Something this simple. Sigh. I've been working on this for the past 2.5 hours lol. Now it's after 3 am.FINALLY! Another SFM Wallpaper!! Totally NOT the one I planned to create today, but I decided last minute that it was time to join in the Springtrap (or Golden Bonnie or whatever) . I can't wait for FNAF3!!!!!!
I found this neat model on Gmod and imported him into SFM, now that I know how. I was able to render the wallpaper with better settings, now that I have a graphics card.
I'm not a huge fan of the model itself, so I lit him up using 3 separate lights in a way that emulates the original feeling we get from the trailer (as seen here
rather than showing off the model itself with more forward lighting. However, I did include JUST enough lighting that if you view the full size, you can see all of the details
I lit his eyes up manually, they don't light up in the model.
The model is a bit "thicker" and "stronger" looking than Scott Cawthon's model, so that's why I gave him that "fite me" pose lol.
I'll turn on the critiques like always, but I don't think there's much of anything to say about this one.

I really like this picture; it has a great impact. However, as this is a critique, there is always room for improvement. While the lighting is rather skillful, I feel that the overall image would be a bit better if the holes in the suit were a bit more illuminated, particularly in the shoulders. This image has an amazing impact. When I first saw it, the light fading out at the sides created the momentary image of Springtrap actually moving, reaching for me. the lighting and shadow around Springtrap make a huge impact. The technique is very good as well, although Springtrap could use a bit more surface detail. For example, there were strands of matted fur that almost looked like veins, and some wires poking out. I feel this picture would be more realistic if those were added. Overall, this picture could be better, as could all forms of art, but it is a very good piece.

oh wow this is a really old picture, and one that I really hate by now haha! Thanks for the critique on it, though TBH you were way too nice on it. But what you say makes sense. There is a reason the lights are how they are, and why the model is so dark. Back then, there were no good/accurate springtrap models, so I did the lighting to hide how bad it was.

this looks amazing.
ive alwys been a fan of silhouette-esk pictures with beams of light creating the shadow. at least when it comes to creepy wallpapers.

now i dont know too much about sfm,but i like the way the model isnt just there. because in my honest opinion most fnaf sfm models look kinda bad.
especially spring trap. however this perfectly hides the bad stuff of sfm with shadows.
again i dont know too much about sfm so i dont know very much about how it was created, so assume it took a couple of hours to create? something along those lines?
anyway this is my first critique
i really like the atmosphere around the picture,however the concept of this time of creepy wallpaper has been done for things like bioshock and other things before. now i cant really judge technique very well,because as i said,i dont do sfm.

but the idea was to make a simple poster, but do it in a way to hide the bad things about the model, since the only one we had at the time was terrible.
By now, I would do a much better job on this, but I'm glad you could still appreciate this!!

-Vision: 3/5 Well... the whole thing pops out, though I do have to say I have removed 2 just from your own way of thinking and mine combined. The designs aren't as intricate as the one with all the animatronics bunched up together, and I can vaguely point out a few wires and maybe a few bolts

As for me, it is just way too simple. A model and a badly positioned volumetric light put together. That doesn ot really express any particular idea or feeling, so it is just another poorly done poster. The posing is fairly strange. Color correction could be improved as well, I recommend adjusting contrast. Light source is under the big question mark. Thinking about it, I came to conclusion that the poster might have made in order to create a creepy atmosphere, probably? If so, then it is absolutely not creepy. In fact, it does not impress me in any way.

You're welcome. Don't worry, everyone started on your level. Here're few tips to make your posters better:
1. Pick up a pose reference somewhere from the internet. That will make character look more realistic. Also, do research about body language to make sure you create a proper impression.
2. Always keep in mind gamma and contrast proportions. They play their role when it comes to creating atmosphere. Low contrast, gamma and saturation lead to boredom, depression etc. , to generally all the supressed feelings. High contrast, gama and saturation help you express strong emotions indeed. Don't take it too seriously though, and keep your Color scheme within the realistic limits.
3. Whenever building a scene, think about light sources. They can't just appear out of nowhere. Also, light is reflecting from surfaces, so in order to immitate 1 light source, you need at least 2 or 3 in SFM. Check out this www.youtube.com/watch?v=REiskA9omMk for more details.
4. Color choice is crucial in order to create a proper atmosphere. Do a research about it. Yellow is a bad choice for fear. I recommend using green, purple and dark blue instead.

5. No matter how dark you want it to be, you need a background. Simple black is a poor choice. Even a simple black-to-grey gradient would be way better. Experiment with different abstract and fractal shapes and forms to improve your posters. Combine it with tip #4.

OK now THAT was really helpful!!! I totally appreciate it! I've been using SFM for about a week now. Not sure if you saw my earlier stuff, but this one was just a really "quick" picture. I'm also not sure how much you know about FNAF, based on your other stuff (I love TF2), but I'll take a look at each point.
1) Ah yes... the reference. So, the thing is... this character doesn't actually exist yet, he's for an upcoming game that has not been released. So, the model is not an accurate representation of the character, but the best I could find. So, I was actually drawing a huge blank about the pose... and the poor model wasn't inspiring me either lol
2) Yeah that stuff is always something I go back and forth with lol... but by 4am, I couldn't see straight anymore, time to call it quits
3) Lights..... excellent video!! But honestly, I've already got my lighting down, and it was done like this on purpose. There are actually 5 lights, not just 1, because I was trying to get exactly this effect. I've been trying to figure out how to create a fog particle stream, but it seems that everyone just says to use volumetrics. So it's cheating, but not what I want. I'll learn that eventually.
Also, like I said in #1, I'm really NOT happy with the model, so while I wanted to light it up more, I couldn't do so without revealing more that I hate about it. So, backlighting it was! lol
And I watched that video, it was great! But I already knew all those techniques. (still, great to know I figured out something right lol)
4) Ah yes, the color. Another thing I struggled with. But, this character has been nicknamed "Golden Bonnie" by the fandom, so hence the yellowish light. Not my preference, like you said, I would have gone for a pale green, but Fans will be Fans haha.
5) Agreed with the background... that's just something that will come with more than 1 week in the program lol. I had a background in mind, and it would have made the picture better, but this wasn't supposed to be another 10-hour venture lol.

It really shows such a scary looking Springtrap, and even without a title the picture could say it by itself.
Poorly lit lamp surely gave the chills, and also the particles oh god.
