I don't know whether I can make a hardened Rand. I'll certainly try, because I want to draw him as he was in the Gathering Storm, but I think my favourite times of Rand were in books 4 to 6, before the mess with the Aes Sedai and Dumai's Wells happened. When he was growing into his role as the Lord Dragon, but still retained enough of his farmboy 'innocence'.

oh yes, Rand as he is now is epic awesome. It's such a wonderful change seeing him so balanced and confident about himself and his role - I can hardly believe it, it's like a dream.

I know. I was so worried about him. Robert Jordan was a genius storyteller, though. And Brandon Sanderson isn't far behind.

Jordan will be so missed - all the other stories that we'll never get to read...!
But yeah, Sanderson is a good choice to finish the series - and his style impressed me enough to pick up his own trilogy. I've only read the 1st book so far, but it's very good - I highly recommend it!! The guy is good.
