Description
Edit: This story is no longer cannon to Un-Phased. And the art is old lolAs Zakieus sat by the fire Aradite made, he reached into the satchel to examine the Moon Pendant for probably the twentieth time since he discovered it that day. The phase of the moon shown on the pendant matched perfectly with the moon in the sky that night, a waning crescent. Everything was still so confusing. As usual, a hundred questions were spiraling in his head. However, unlike before, Professor Lawrence wasn't there to try answer them. He no longer had access to the immense library of school. It was just him and his sister, and she was just as confused as he, though the confusion didn't bother her.
Glancing upward at the moon once more, Zak found that one question really stuck out in his mind, and he wasn't sure if he'd ever get the answer.

Aaaaand its done!!! Part 3 of 4 BABEY!!!
The background isn't as much as I was thinking going in, but ya know, it works!!!
It's more concentrated on the characters and good lighting anyways, so yeah!
I really had fun with colors on this. In a graphics and effects class, I learned how to actually use curves and other tools, so I was able to make a sort of color scheme after already placing down the colors! I also found a great way to do fire that I'm probably gonna do forever now, LOL
I also changed up the line work colors this time. I've been having troubles with getting them the color I want, and while I'm still not fully satisfied, I'm happy with how this turned out anyway!!
If you have any ideas on how to improve this, I'd love to hear it~
And as always, I hope you enjoy!!
Check out the other art in this series too if you haven't already!

Ooo, of course! I have a sort of watercolor splatter-shaped brush, and then I make sure to turn on wet edges. I use that to make a vaguely fire shaped object that is reddish-orange. Then I duplicate the layer. On the duplicated layer, I change the overall color to a yellow using a clipping mask and change the layer mode to screen. Then I put a gaussian blur filter on that layer, and you got that good fire glow.
You may have to mess around with colors depending on your background, but that's what I did here
If you want, I can provide pictures and also the brush I used! ^^

:O that makes so much sense! I'll have to research if there's a "wet edges" mode to Krita, but since it's basically meant to emulate Photoshop I bet the option is there somewhere.
Pictures and the brush would be great!

Yeah! It's really great for a ton of reasons! That same brush can be used for stains, watercolors, fire, leaves, a ton of stuff really! It's a great brush!
Of course! Here they are -- sta.sh/22fucu5ubp0o
Hope this all makes sense and helps! You can definitely play around with it to get the effect you want, this is just what I did here

Ahhhh! The boy! The boy is here! Oh~ I love the contrast of the trees against the deep purple sky! It has such depth!! Honestly, somehow I can feel the chill of the night air just looking at this! It's awesome! All of your lighting/shadow on this is freaking perfect! Heck, all three of your character paintings have a very unique light source and it's simply mood-inducing. Breathtaking would be the word I'm looking for. Are you going to print these out and put them up when they're all done? I totally would!

He is!!! And he's in his schoolboy clothes!! (which I have finally designed XD)Β
And Oh my goodness, thank you so much!!! I really started this series because I needed more practice with dramatic lighting and I've been purposefully giving everyone their unique light source 'cause G-Dangit, They're all special and deserve it XD
Oh heck! Now that you said it, I totally am!
I need to print out more art in general,, especially the art of my characters that other people drew, cause I need a physical copy to cherish, And right now they're just looping on my desktop background, LOL

Oh, same! I want to fill my living room wall with Ancient Blood art from other people but it's a matter of where I can go to print that many with decent quality paper and not break the bank. I ordered that huge poster of Seb Β from a website and it was like $25 (cuz of shipping, too) but it came a bit too dark. Meh.

I'm lucky for now, cause I'm still in school where printing is reasonably priced (If it wasn't, I'd riot. Half of the students in my college need to print colored stuff for homework because we got a ton of photographers here) So, I've been utilizing that to print out some of my stuff (My mom upon looking at this image of Akohta I drew said she wanted a print for mother's day, so that's where I discovered it in the first place, lol)
Oh yeah. Printed colors never turn out how it does on screen. They darken everything and red is the most prominent color from what I've learned. You gotta adjust the colors to get it more correct and it's super frustrating, omg. If I had a picture, I'd show you how they hecked up my rainbow man's colors
