A beloved classic.  B5 just had some really great look trying to be kinda realistic.  So many titles just go for the super slick scifi.

Spinejakal: Those things in the middle that made you think they were/are cargo pods are part of the Artificial Gravity centrifuge system that spins to create Artificial Gravity on Earth ships. In the B5 universe, only the Earth ships had to rotate parts of their ships to generate gravity, all the other races had already had the tech to generate an AG field for many years. Remember Earth was still the "new kid" on the interstellar block and what was advanced for Earth was obsolete for the aliens.
