Description
(Originally dated 2015-03-23.)A map in a rather unlikely alternate history scenario where Arab traders land in around ~1250 on the coast of Texas, introducing the Native Americans to Eurasian diseases, Islam, and many Old World material goods (horses, citrus, dates, etc.) before just leaving, preparing the natives for the later arrival of Europeans.

Ah. Interesting.Β
As you can probably tell, most of the stuff in my gallery is so old you probably couldn't even carbon-date it.Β Β I was interested in markedly different stuff then. Actually, no, I was interested in the same stuff, just to different degrees, and my ability back then to draw stuff not related to maps, climate, or pixel art was the same as it is today... zero.
I just wish I had the remotest of art skills and/or cash to bring my universes to life...Β

Fascinating idea. I assume the Europeans wiped out the natives even more radically in this time line?

No. The entire point of it was the exact oppositeβthe Native Americans are "pre-introduced" to Old World diseases and goods before the Europeans arrive, giving them preparation.
I've been thinking of reviving a similar scenario currently, with a slightly different premise:

Hmmm. Yeah that sure is an interesting thought. But I think the radically Christian settlers from Europe would have killed the natives in bigger numbers because they would have had a more violent attitude towards them right of the bat since they are muslims in your timeline. At least some of them I mean.
Forceful conversion wouldn't even be considered and they might just would go full crusader on the natives. XD
But that's just what I was thinking.

Ah. There was supposed to be a "Tours/Talas-style" battle in the early 1400s at Cahokia that mostly stops the advance of Islam beyond the Mississippi, though.

Oh. I see now. But I think the caliphates in the east definitely will become targets once the westerners have advanced that far.
