A very strong image. It captures that sense of Anakin/Vader from "Sith" to who he is in the original trilogy. A brooding portrait that skirts that beautiful line between cartoon (in the best sense) and reality.
A real favorite.

Eh, the whole Clone Wars thing is iffy. I agree that her novels are good, but they still can't be canon, because they depend on the events of TPM and AOTC as being canon. I just say they're an alternate universe.

I'm not super knowledgeable about SW aside from what I saw on film, mostly the older ones (thankfully) but it seemed like Vader's age in Return of the Jedi doesn't quite match how he's portrayed in the new films... wouldn't he have to be like... 40 something? o.0

And yeah Vader was in his mid 40s when RotJ happened. He just looks like crap because his skin is mostly scar tissue and he's been stewing in the suit for like 20 years. That things gotta smell too. I doubt the guy got many showers with that thing on XD

don't forget the cloning technologies, I'm sure that they could "grow" new skin or even other organs. The Emperor just wanted to have more control over him, and wanted him to be weaker.
