I decided that I needed to draw Momo’s buddies since they play rather large roles in events later on in my fic, “Speak”. Hence this picture.

This specific image is also directly going to come into play a few chapters from now. It's supposed to be a photograph taken at a festival (if it were in color there would be fireworks in the background, I think), hence why everyone is dressed up. Akko is the only one who likes kimono enough to actually wear one. As the only one who isn't totally obsessed with fashion, the others tend to play dress-up using Momo as the doll--normally she wouldn't look so sexed up.

Sugi: The resident fashionista and the prettiest of the four girls. She gets up early each day to curl her hair and do her makeup. She’s the mama-bear figure of the group, making sure everyone has shoes that match their outfits and that everyone is getting along. She tends to only say things when they’ll be really important, and if you threaten her friends the claws will come OUT! She has a dry wit and is good at making snappy comebacks, and SOMEHOW she can call people out when they’re being stupid without sounding like a bitch. She’s somewhat vain, but despite her overwhelming confidence she has insecurities about her appearance only her friends are privy to.

Akko: She has classic Japanese good looks and a delicate appearance, but she’s the loudest of the group and is REALLY FREAKING DRAMATIC, DUDES. She swears like a sailor and loves to gossip. Her energy is boundless, but there are times she can be a little self-absorbed or unaware of herself. Still, she’s the group’s comedy-factor and can make anyone laugh when they’re feeling blue. She likes kimonos and food and is a great person to come to if you want to trash-talk someone who made you sad. She’ll side with her friends no matter what, even if they’re wrong, because she values her friends above all else. Her parents own a high-end restaurant in the classical Japanese style; she is the heir, meaning she has a perfect grasp of manners (though she only uses them on adults, which is why she is usually selected to get the group out of trouble when they fall into it).

Yuuki: As the group’s most childish member, the others dote on Yuuki all the time and tend to shelter her a little. She cries easily and doesn’t respond well to negativity. Yuuki has the uncanny ability to tell when something is wrong with her friends, and she’s so sympathetic that sometimes the problems of others reduce her to tears. Dresses a little like a goth Lolita and loves pink, skulls, cosplay, and cute things (though her version of ‘cute’ can sometimes border on ‘scary’). She’s the type to hug you randomly and tell you that she loves you just because she senses something is wrong, but she can get a bit clingy, too. Yuuki is an incredibly innocent soul that can get taken advantage of as easily as a lost puppy, but sometimes she has moments of intense wisdom that leave people staring at her in confusion. Bubbly and bright to the point of annoyance.

Momo: Level-headed but naïve, Momo’s inability to speak has made her the group confidante—everyone comes to her to share their thoughts because she’s an excellent secret keeper. She rarely offends people since she always thinks before she ‘speaks’, but when people offend her she tends not to stand up for herself. Often she feels like an outsider, though she would never admit it. She always tries to keep a sunny outlook, though this can lead her to trusting people she shouldn’t or becoming someone’s doormat. The others regard her as the group’s “pillar”, a source of strength they can always lean on in times of struggle. She’s also the fastest texter, responding day or night no matter what, and she would run a thousand miles for her friends.
