Description
By the light of the full moon, solders twisted into lycanthropic dogs of war hunt darkened marshes, unaware that they, in turn, were being hunted. As one strays from the pack, the feral hero known only as Rowr pounces.A commission featuring the tigress, Rowr, created by *Rowrsie .
In this piece, I pushed my now usual method a touch further by incorporated in some gray scaled india ink markers into the mix to help with the shading and to help darken in the shadow patches of the work. i have to say, i wish i had worked in the markers in some of my earlier works as i really like what they did for the piece. You can definitely expect more of that in the future
Medium: watercolor, colored pencil, and india ink on 300lbs hot pressed watercolor paper.

Thanks! I really enjoyed creating him... I didn't think the patchy fur would turn out nearly as good as it did.

sweet! That's what i was going for. I wanted a nazi-y...y... y touch to it but lacking the whole 5th column now, I had to rely on what they left behind. Thanks!

out of all works you have ever done , for some reason i like the colors of this night the most . i am not used to seeing soo much blu in the background , you works are generally dark ! .

Thanks! And, ya, this has to be the most blue in one of my watercolors ever! Part of it is the ink markers I have started working into my pieces. Expect more like this in the future!

Thank you! Though, to be honest, i don't know if I can really what I do watercoloring any longer as I've used so many other things to get that look, i guess I need to start posting my work to mixed media. Hell, i don't even know if it's painting any more

Garv101 In reply to graver13 [2007-02-12 19:00:37 +0000 UTC]
The colored pencils alone wouldn't qualify it to mixed media in my view. Half the colored pencils out there are the "watercolor" variety anyway.
The grey-scale underpainting might put it into the mixed category however, I dont' know. I've done a few colored pencil paintings with Prismacolor marker underpaintings, and do call them mixed, but then marker adds so much more to pencil than they would to a watercolor.
Bottom line... whatever the hell it is - you're the master!

Thanks!
Ya, it's hard to tell what's mixed and not, but now that i have 3 different mediums going at once and the watercolor part of the mix is pretty much just a third of all that goes into it instead of being the dominant medium as in my earlier works, that constitutes mixed

Well don't you know the rules? The less a girl wears the more protection she has So therefore if I -was- naked i'd be nearly unstoppable! So I like to even the odds a little and actually wear something
